Octavius Winslow – It is I! / Christian Devotional Reading

There are two devotional readings on this 5-minute video. The first, titled, It Is I, is Christ comforting the believer and telling him of the source of his afflictions and comfort.

The playlist from which this video came is linked because it contains 40 other videos that are about spiritual struggles; spiritual darkness; affliction; learning to lean on Jesus; prayer; self-denial defined; and other things that all born-again believers need to understand and / or will experience.

Look at the list and sample some that you might find solace and edification.

This list is a short playlist from the Christian YouTube site, Christian Sermons and Audio Books.

Because of the postings from this site, I just discovered Wilhelmus A Brakel, he wrote:

Brakel, Wilhelmus à. The Christian’s Reasonable Service . Reformation Heritage Books. Kindle Edition.

I copied part of the contents of an Amazon review below which shows the contents of A Brakel’s 4-volume Kindle book:

Wilhelmus A Brakel was the flowering of 17th century Holland’s 2nd Reformation, something akin to the Puritan revival in the British Isles. A Brakel is different than you might think for though he was a careful and as attentive to detail as any ‘Reformed scholastic’ he was also immensely practical, pastoral and experiential. He takes the reader by the hand and shows him/her the riches to be found in Christ and 18th century Reformed theology. He was a pastor, theologian, author and deeply engaged Christian. His praise is in all the churches!

The discerning reader of this review can tell that A Brakel was both a thorough theologian and an engaged pastor who cared that people understood and lived the truth.

I hope you enjoy A Brakel and allow him to take you by the hand and lead you closer to the Lord.

Pastor Steve Martin
