The harm of progressive government policies can most clearly be seen in California; however, these things are also occurring in other states which are controlled by democratic progressives.
The 2014 movie, There’s No Place Like Utopia by Joel Gilbert (free to Amazon Prime members), shows how democratic progressive policies have ruined several large cities in the USA. The very policies that are emphasized in the following videos. But he goes into more depth so that viewers can understand the motives behind these destructive progressive agendas — basically, that boils down to creating a guaranteed voter base despite that it wrecks communities.
If you are a democrat, consider: Nancy Pelosi was first elected to Congress in 1987. She started her 17th term in 2019. She represents California’s 12th congressional district, which consists of four fifths of the city and county of San Francisco. She initially represented the 5th district (1987–1993), and then, when district boundaries were redrawn after the 1990 Census, the 8th district (1993–2013). She is a member of the Democratic Party. Pelosi has led House Democrats since 2003—being the first woman to lead a party in Congress—serving twice each as House minority leader (2003–2007 and 2011–2019, when Republicans held the majority), and as Speaker (2007–2011 and 2019–present, during periods of Democratic majority). While Pelosi spent the past 3 years on a headhunt to impeach our president, her own community was being torn apart by democratic policies and, seemingly, neglect. But these issues are common to all the communities visited by Joel Gilbert in his film. However, the second video below listed San Francisco as the worst city in the country for property crime; Los Angeles, ranked 17th; New York City, 20th.
Since the first video below is by PragerU, and democrats severely criticize them, I provided an second video by an independent source that basically paints the same scenario:
Each video is sufficiently different as to warrant viewing:
Same scenario given by an independent source: Tampa Aerial Media .com. The narrator is a CA native and businessman who now resides elsewhere for many of the following reasons that he identified as problems in the video: political correctness; taxes; open borders; heavy regulations; 40 years of hostility towards business; high utility and labor costs; high housing costs….
Furthermore, he notes that the government rewards bad behavior and punishes hard working, law abiding citizens; and that the state needs better officials who would be friendly to law enforcement; business; law-abiding citizens; faith-based organizations, etc. to restore it to its past glory.
In closing, I wanted to say that Gilbert’s movie makes it clear that sanctuary cities are also an attempt to bolster the democratic guaranteed voter base. The end game is to create a socialist nation after they have wrecked this country by severely overloading the welfare system and severely taxing those who work and obey the law.
Please spend an hour and a half viewing Gilbert’s movie to get a clear picture of the motives and goals of democratic, progressive, leftist government in the USA.
One last point must be emphasized, the homeless population in Ca. will very likely increase the potential for serious health problem in terms of spreading the covid 19 virus. There are seemingly other major health problems with this community that are presently being ignored by those democrats in office.
