The following points are highlights from pastor Conway’s 8-minute video; it is from the YouTube site, Except Ye Repent Ministries [the channel is no longer available; I recorded these videos some time ago and decided to publish them today because I need to hear them….]
- The questions: Why is repentance and faith so hard?
- Why is so much violence involved?
- Why are so many unable to enter into the narrow gate and the narrow way to heaven?
- Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.
- Is the door into heaven narrow? Yes, very narrow; but it is sufficiently wide for every person who desires, to go through
- If you’re thirsty, then go through and drink
- The door to the kingdom of God is like a monkey trap
- For example, trappers capture monkeys by placing nuts in a container with a long narrow neck; the monkey’s empty hand may enter through the passageway of the bottle, but if he is grasping a nut, he cannot extract his hand
- The monkey will not let go of the nut even when the trapper is coming towards him to bag him for a zoo – Conway explained carefully, emphatically
- Luke 14:33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
- One idol, one sin, will keep you from fitting through the passage way to heaven
- He bids us come, as in Rev 22:17 above; but there is a nut that most have….
- Even the threat of hell is insufficient to cause many to release the nut
- Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
- If the monkey lets go of the nut, he is out, “right now!”
- 19 years ago [he tells about his own letting go of precious sins]
If you would know more about hell, then the second video below, also by pastor Conway, provides a graphic depiction of hell.
I think it is valuable in that it helps one to more clearly envision the punishment that lies ahead in the way of those who refuse to repent and enter into the narrow way to heaven.
The Awful Destiny Of The Unrepentant:
I pray that the above videos made an impression on you. It seems that we all backslide on occasion, even great saints like king David experienced a terrible backslide. Therefore, we need to listen to preachers, at such times, that slap us in the face with some biblical reality….
