The following two 6 minute videos by Dr. Piper address slightly different aspects of sexual sin. They are both worthy of hearing, as they may provide you with right thinking and strategies for dealing with your own sin.
One very important point is that there is forgiveness with God. Dr. Piper’s words should help one discern the difference between coming to God in one’s own strength and making vows; and coming to God to ask for His mercy via Christ’s atoning work and righteous life. It took me a long time to understand the difference. Moreover, I did not understand that I was erring until I heard pastor Albert N. Martin’s sermon series on Psalm 51 numerous times.
In the following video, Dr. Piper is preaching on 1Co 6:9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,
1Co 6:10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
1Co 6:11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
