Proclaiming the Gospel Newsletter for July 2024 – Mike Gendron Ministries

In the following brief introduction, I attempted to prepare the reader for Mike Gendron’s words:

My spiritual journey began when I was in my early 20’s, after the sudden death of my mother. I had been raised up in the Roman Catholic church, baptized and confirmed…. After my father quit attending church, my mother took me to a local Orthodox Presbyterian church for a few years until I quit attending at around age 15.

Until my mother’s death, I hadn’t taken my spiritual life seriously, the common distractions of a teen, in the 1960’s completely derailed me spiritually (that is detailed in the ‘About Me’ section of this blog). I am mentioning these things here because the information in this Newsletter is speaking to people from that perspective.

The questions I had to answer for myself when I began my quest, had to do with spiritual truth: what was out there; what was actually true and would benefit me; what would lead me to God….

It took me a long time to come to what Mike Gendron discussed below.

I waded through many eastern religions, studied philosophy… and ended up spiritually empty. I never found God. He did reveal Himself to me after my life crashed. At that time, I was moved to read through the Bible for the first time in my life, age 53.

Mike Gendron was a practicing Roman Catholic for 37 years or so. He was born again in a similar manner.

[Below, just before the information on Mike Gendron’s speaking engagements and his ministry resources, are two links: the first is to Mike’s testimony; the second is to the testimony of Dr. Fred Tarsitano, who was also a practicing Roman Catholic for more than 30 years.]

His words below emphasize that KNOWING what is in the Bible is foundational to the Christian life.

If you study it, then you will discover that Roman Catholicism does not have a biblical gospel. That many of their common practices are unbiblical…. (The epistles of Romans and Galatians make that very clear.)

But knowing the Bible is only the beginning, living in accordance with it is also a great challenge, as is stated in the following verses:

Matthew 7:13  “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
Mat 7:14  For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

The spiritual journey indicated by those two verses is illustrated wonderfully in the John Bunyan book, The Pilgrim’s Progress. Bunyan speaks of a GATE; and then of a WAY that was filled with peril.

Our Only Infallible Source for Truth on Earth

The most important decision anyone makes in this life is choosing which authority to trust for their eternal destiny. We can be wrong about a lot of things in this life and still survive, but if we are wrong about eternity, we will pay for that mistake forever and ever. Thankfully, there is one infallible source for truth that we can trust and that is the inspired, inerrant Word of God.

Every Religion Has Its Own Authority

Since every religion has an authority, and every person has an opinion, it is important when we share the Gospel to ask people about their source for truth. The responses are either their religion, a person, a book, a spirit, an apparition or even their own understanding. Some will say they rely on their popes, rabbis, religious leaders, religious traditions, human reasoning, church history, church fathers, or Google. Any of these sources might be right some of the time, but there is only one source that is right all the time. Our perfect and omniscient God has never been wrong, and He has given us His Word as our only infallible source for truth on this earth.

There is No Higher Authority than God and His Word

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness” (2 Tim. 3:16). In other words, Scripture is our supreme authority for knowing truth and correcting all that opposes it. Every word was breathed out by God, who cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18). Because of this, His inerrant Word must be the standard by which we discern truth from error (1 John 4:6). We also know that Scripture is sufficient to function as the sole infallible rule of faith, because it does not refer us to any other source for truth. Everything we must know, understand, and believe to be saved is found in Scripture (2 Tim. 3:14-16; 1 Cor. 15:1-4). Therefore, after considering any other source for truth, we must ask, “But what does the Scripture say?” (Gal. 4:30).

The Internal Testimony of Scripture

No other source for truth can do everything that Scripture does. It brings conviction, gives wisdom, produces faith, refutes error, and can be used as a sword to slay the devil’s lies. Scripture also converts the soul, sets people free, sanctifies us and equips us for every good work. Most importantly, it also reproves and corrects. Therefore, we must use it to test the veracity of all of the following:

  • The teachings of men (Acts 17:11)
  • Religious traditions (Mark 7:7-13)
  • The spirits (1 John 4:1)
  • Church fathers (Acts 20:29-31)
  • Wisdom of men (1 Cor. 2:5)
  • Your own understanding (Prov. 3:5)

Religion Is What Man Says God Says

Why would anyone who is earnestly searching for the truth look anywhere other than Christ and His Word? The Lord Jesus is the personification of truth and His Word is truth (John 14:6, 17:17). He came into this world to testify to the truth and everyone who is of the truth hears His voice (John 18:37). Therefore, we must embrace Scripture as our supreme authority for truth because Scripture is what God says; while religion is what man says God says.

Unity With Rome Is Meeting Little Resistance

Many undiscerning evangelicals are not contending against the pope’s ecumenical agenda to unite all Christians together. This excellent video exposes the evil deeds of darkness that are at work in churches today. It should be used by every born-again Christian to contend earnestly for the exclusivity of the Gospel against the seductive ecumenical movement. Watch the video here.

People Held in Bondage Don’t Even Know It

The word religion comes from a Latin word meaning “to bind fast.” That is the goal of every religion – to bind or control people with religious works, laws, rituals, and obligations. They are often paralyzed by the fear of hell if they don’t comply. Since all religions are influenced by Satan, it is ultimately the devil who holds them captive to do his will (2 Tim. 2:24-26). The only hope for those in bondage is to exchange their burdensome and controlling religion for complete freedom through an eternal relationship with Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus declared, “if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). Watch Mike’s message here.

Letters to Equip and Encourage the Saints

Mike, I have no doubt that you believe the Bible alone contains all a Christian needs to attain eternal life. I also believe you are sincerely wrong. I am a committed Catholic, born again in Baptism (sins forgiven, made a member of the family of God) and now on the road to Salvation praying that in the end I will be judged faithful. It’s not possible to go into all the issues you raise about the Catholic Church, which is central to Christ’s plan to save a fallen world. A word of caution: STOP PERSECUTING CHRIST’S CHURCH!

A.O., Internet

Mike, Is it because of pride that Protestants are not willing to accept the 2,000 year-old Catholic Church teaching on the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist? By labeling it “idolatry” do you feel “safe” in refusing to adore Jesus Christ physically present in the Eucharist? Frank, Internet

Frank, By the supreme authority of God’s inspired Word we know that the Eucharist is a false Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ cannot be physically present in a wafer.

He does not return every day because He “will appear a second time, not to deal with sin” (Heb. 9:28). He “must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything” (Acts 3:21). He will return “Immediately after the tribulation” to the same place He ascended: “on the Mount of Olives” (Mat. 24:29-30; Zech. 14:4).

He will return the same way He left, in a body, not a wafer, “with power and great glory” (Mat. 24:30; Acts 1:11). Now that you see the inspired, infallible Word of God reproves Catholic teaching, I pray you will repent and believe God’s Gospel of grace.

Hi Mike, I am an ex-catholic and I realize how much the the Catholic Church lied to my family (many of which have died). I’m now evangelizing a Catholic friend and am worried how she will feel once she realizes her lovely Catholic Mum, that went to church every day, may be in hell. Can you give me advice on how I can lessen the heartache for her? I love all your videos, thank you for all of your hard work. Nora

Dear Nora, No matter where your friend’s deceased Mum may be spending eternity, she would want her to know the truth. Read Luke 16 and explain how the rich man, suffering in hell, wanted his loved ones on earth to know the truth. Then give her hope by telling her about the thief on the cross who was a sinner all his life and was mocking Jesus. When God revealed to him who was dying next to him, he asked Jesus to remember him in His kingdom. Jesus said, today you will be with me in paradise (Luke 23:43). Plead with your friend to repent and trust Christ alone just as the thief did.

Hi Mike, I am starting to see the lies in my Catholic faith because the passage in 1 Timothy 4 has hit me like a ton of bricks. I do have a question though. Why did Jesus give Peter the keys? Christy

Christy, I am thrilled that you are now able to discern between doctrines of demons and the Word of God. After Peter’s great confession of faith as to who Jesus is, the Lord replied, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven…” (Mat. 16:17–19). The Rock is Jesus (1 Cor. 10:4; 1 Pet. 2:6) and the key that opens the gates of heaven is the Gospel (Rom. 1:16). As the Gospel is preached, those who respond in faith and repentance are granted access to the Kingdom of Heaven; those who reject the Gospel are shut out of the Kingdom. Jesus gave Peter the keys because it was Peter who responded to His question.

Epochs of Time Reveal God’s Wrath on Sin
The six thousand years of human history can be divided into three distinct epochs of time which all end with one event in common. They each culminate with an outpouring of God’s wrath. The first 2,000 years of human history, from Adam to Noah, ended when the wrath of God was poured out on sin in the Flood (Genesis 6-9). The second 2,000 years, from Abraham to Jesus Christ, ended when the wrath of God was poured out on sin at the Cross (Isaiah 53:5-12; Psalm 88:7). The third 2,000 years, from the birth of the church at Pentecost to the rapture of the Church, will be followed by God pouring out His wrath on sin during the Tribulation (Rev. 6:16-17; Rom. 5:9). The Lord Jesus is the only one who can rescue people from the coming wrath (1 Thes. 1:10).
Pope Embraces Married Transgenders

Pope Francis made headlines when he invited a group of transgender “women” to take part in the Vatican-hosted lunch and sat opposite a “transgender” former sex worker. He invited a group of men who present themselves as women as special guests to the event. He refers to a woman who underwent a sex-change operation as a “man.” Read more.

A brief excerpt from that post and link to post:

…Mike also went to seminary which he talks about in the mp3 testimony below. His testimony is only 4 minutes long; he spends another 40 minutes speaking about ECT, the false movement calling Evangelicals and Catholics Together via a unity that ignores doctrinal differences.

A brief excerpt from the post on Dr. Tarsitano and link:

Dr. Fred Tarsitano was born again over 40 years ago. In the first video below, he shares his conversion experience which includes beginning to read scripture and seeking answers from priests and a bishop about the Bible. He made some very important discoveries that may interest you very much if you are a Roman Catholic or if you have family or friends who belong to the Catholic church.

In the second video, Dr. Tarsitano focuses on some common errors that all false religions share, regarding the biblical doctrine of salvation. In the process he talks about 4 false religions and points they share with the Catholic church. You will be surprised and schooled at the same time.

Each video is about 15 minutes in length.
