Former Congressman Bob McEwen: ‘They Will Rue the Day That They Pulled This Stunt:’ Epoch Times

WASHINGTON - JUNE 13: The U.S. Supreme Court is seen on June 13, 2005 in Washington DC. The court refused to hear the case of terror suspect Jose Padilla today as well as overturning the conviction of Thomas Miller-El, a black death row inmate, ruling that Texas prosecutors unfairly stacked his jury with whites. Former Congressman Bob McEwen: ‘They Will Rue the Day That They Pulled This Stunt’

December 12, 2020 Updated: December 12, 2020

WASHINGTON—Former Congressman Bob McEwan attended a rally at the nation’s capitol near the Supreme Court where thousands had come to protest the handling of the presidential election.

“The nation has never seen this level of injustice before and the people are aroused,” McEwan said.

Thousands gathered to join marches and rallies in Washington on Dec. 12, 2020, petitioning the government for fair elections and transparent counting. Similar grassroots protests took place every Saturday since the general election in capitals across the 50 states.

If the courts do not insert themselves to correct violations of state constitutions as we’ve seen in states like Pennsylvania, McEwan said, then there may be no recourse this election cycle and the people need to make sure bad actors are removed from office “we we can have an honest election.”

“In order to have self-government, you need to have self-discipline. As John Adams said, this Constitution was made for a moral and a religious people. It’s wholly inadequate to the government of any other. And if a person is dishonest and corrupt then they will destroy New York, they will destroy the state of California, and could possibly our country, and that is what we are here to prevent,” McEwan said.

McEwan said the news media and social media have played a major part in the injustice.

“Truth overcomes error. Therefore error hates truth. That’s why only socialists burn books, only socialists shout down speakers, thats why the media, if a person is on Facebook or Twitter they see how the media has to shut [it] down,” he said.

“Why do they do that? In competition of ideas, truth wins. Therefore socialism, communism, error cannot win if truth is presented,” he said. “That is why we see what’s taking place here.”

“Americans can see it, all you have to do is put something on Facebook and you see how they put a little addition to it to try to smear it. Americans are waking up to see how legacy media, who are trying to steal our country and are refusing to tell the truth they blacked out the things that people needed to know,” he said.

“They will rue the day that they pulled this stunt,” he said.
